- setting the editorial policies and strategic direction of the journal;
- assessing the relevance of the submitted papers to the journal and their overall quality;
- assigning the associate editors for review process and collaborate with them;
- overseeing the peer-review process and ensuring editorial integrity;
- making final decisions on manuscript acceptance or rejection;
- managing relationships with the editorial board;
- ensuring adherence to ethical standards and publishing guidelines;
- promoting the journal and increasing its visibility and impact;
- managing relationships with the Indexing Databases.
External Advisory Board
- overseeing the journal’s editorial processes to ensure decisions are made solely based on academic merit and ethical guidelines;
- monitoring that the Editor-in-Chief and Publisher roles remain separate in function, even if held by the same individual (i.e., assesses whether the Editor-in-Chief’s dual role as publisher affects impartiality);
- working with the Editor-in-Chief to find an acceptable solution that maintains the journal’s credibility if impartiality is affected;
- overseeing that peer-review and editorial processes remain objective and unbiased;
- providing guidance on potential conflicts of interest and ethical issues in publishing;
- recommending updates to editorial policies as necessary to align with best practices.
Associate Editors
- assigning reviewers to submitted manuscripts allocated by Editor-in-Chief for review;
- overseeing the peer-review process and providing recommendations to the Editor-in-Chief;
- ensuring that submitted papers meet the journal’s quality and ethical standards;
- communicating with authors about revisions and editorial decisions;
- handling special issues or thematic sections in the journal.
Assistant Editors
- ensuring manuscripts meet formatting and submission guidelines;
- managing manuscript submissions and tracking their progress;
- facilitating communication between authors, reviewers, and editors;
- assisting in proofreading, copyediting, and checking references;
- supporting journal promotion and outreach efforts.
Reviewers
- evaluating the scientific rigor, methodology, and clarity of manuscripts;
- providing constructive feedback and recommendations for revisions;
- advising associate editors on manuscript acceptance, rejection, or revision;
- identifying potential ethical issues, such as plagiarism or conflicts of interest.
Publisher
- prof. Mihai Mutascu is the Editor-in-Chief of Economic Research Guardian and also serves as its Publisher. In his role as Editor-in-Chief, he oversees content selection and peer review, while as Publisher he handles journal operations, such as the website, funding, and other administrative and technical aspects;
- prof. Mihai Mutascu privately covers all related journal's operational costs, including web domain registration and yearly extensions, server hosting, and the creation, development, and maintenance of the journal's web platform using the Weebly.com service and its related tools;
- an independent External Advisory Board monitors and ensures that Editor-in-Chief and Publisher roles remain separate in function, even if held by the same individual.
